Background/History: Stone Root Complex contains a number of natural ingredients including Stone Root (root) which is also known by other names including collinsonia root, heal all, knob root, horse balm, and many others. Collinsonia root was named after Benjamin Franklin’s friend, an English botanist, Peter Collins.
Historically, Stone Root is associated with many different therapeutic uses and health benefits including irritations of mucus membranes, blood vessel support, respiratory support, digestion support and most commonly for vascular irritation of the rectal area and pain or constriction in the lower abdomen, in particular for symptomatic hemorrhoids.
Studies have shown that stone root contains phytoactive compounds. Phytoactive compounds like flavonoids and saponins are chemicals produced by plants through primary or secondary metabolism. These natural chemicals support life and provide protection for both plants and the animals (people) who eat them.
Saponins are associated with healthy blood glucose, cholesterol levels, and immune system support. Flavonoids are associated with many health-promoting effects including potential support of healthy metabolic function. Research links flavonoids to anti-microbial activity, and anti-inflammatory activity.
